Its small-town origins place it in similar territory to the German sci-fi series Dark, the vampire horror, Midnight Mass and the cultural phenomena that is Stranger Things. The show has plenty of mystery and unique puzzles that keep audiences guessing while grounding it in sci-fi elements, which adds its own touch to the show. While exploring, he discovers more strange things about the town that cause him to question reality. At first, it looks like any other idyllic town until he discovers that he can't leave, like in the series adaptation of Stephen King's, From. The series kicks off with Ethan, who gets in a car accident with his partner, waking up at a hospital in the strange town of Wayward Pines.
